We all know drinking water is good for us. After all, the adult human body is made up of about 60% water. It is essential for optimal organ function and overall wellbeing. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery, with 31% water. You can see why we definitely need to consume water on a regular basis. The problem is that people don’t typically consume enough water daily for a variety of reasons. In some cases they just don’t realize how much they should be drinking or they just don’t like to drink plain old water when there are so many other flavorful options out there.
